What did I say yesterday? Yes it will get better for Team GB as the games goes on and it did!
Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie’s victory in the men’s canoe slalom and Peter Wilson’s double trap shooting triumph.
Another features cyclist Philip Hindes, Jason Kenny and Sir Chris Hoy, who took the men’s team sprint cycling gold. Britain’s cycling team sprint trio smashed their own world record to beat France to the gold medal at the Olympic Velodrome. The team clocked 42.600 seconds, beating the mark they set in the previous round and taking Sir Chris to the fifth Olympic gold of his career.
Young Peter Wilson, from Dorchester, triumphed in the men’s double trap by two shots at the Royal Artillery Barracks.
Gemma Gibbons has also won a Silver Medal in the women’s judo competition, after loosing to a strong Kayla Harrison of the United States.
Also, Anthony Ogogoo caused a huge upset as he defeated Ukraine’s world No 1 Ievgen Khytrov in a thrilling bout to reach the quarter-finals of the middleweight tournament.
Now Team GB are fifth in the Medal Table! We are getting stronger every day!!!
