You guys have probably been thinking ”When are they going talk about Jamal Edwards?” well the time is now!
For those who don’t know Jamal Edwards is the founder and creator of SB.TV (Smokey Barz Television) which is an online broadcasting company who broadcast music, freestyle, acoustic, interviews or any other categories within youth culture.
One thing that will always inspire me about Jamal’s story is that he was just another young black boy until his mum bought him a video camera where he started filming rap freestyles and has transformed from a young black boy to a inspirational entrepreneur to the youth!
Jamal started off filming amateur rap videos from various rappers in London and then uploaded them on Youtube, then he started getting crazy respect and praise for his work. He continued to get bigger and bigger, and next thing you know he is shaking hands with Richard Branson. One amazing thing about Jamal’s work is that broadened his audience and work, he went from doing rap videos, to doing interviews, acoustic videos, and having his own series (F64 – Fresh 64 Bars, A64 – Acoustic 64 and Warm Up Sessions)
Also, Jamal Edwards was chosen to be involved in the Olympic Torch Relay! Amazing!
One thing we can learn from this is that we can make something, out of nothing…
Here is a video of the young entrepreneur interviewing our PM…
