Little Thiago is ONLY four days old and he has already been requested to be signed my a number off teams.
Lionel Messi’s son entered the world on Friday, and it has transpired that Thiago Messi was born 869 days after Cristiano Ronaldo Junior – the same age difference their fathers share.
The coincidence bodes well for the two little ‘uns, whose fathers are widely regarded as the two best players in the world.
Much is expected from the newborn because of who is father is, but having been born in Spain, Thiago is eligible to play for both Argentina and the country his dad plays football in for Barcelona.
After his birth had been announced it seemed Messi’s club and international teammates were already trying to suggest who the baby boy should represent.
Argentina and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero wrote on Twitter: ‘Welcome, Thiago!! Just one thing: I’ll get you the shirt of the Argentinean national team. Congrats, Leo!!!’
Messi’s Barcelona teammate and Spanish international Andres Iniesta added on the social network: ‘Many congratulations to Leo and Antonella! Congrats… I’m very happy everything turned out fine!!’
Lionel Messi’s girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo gave birth to their son on Friday.
Messi, 25, wrote on his Facebook page: ‘Today I am the happiest man in the world, my son has been born.
‘I thank God for this gift. Thanks to my family for the support. A hug for everyone.’
Both his parents are from Argentina so it seems they would direct him towards playing for the South American country.
But that is not for certain and if Thiago decides to play for the Spaniards many people in Argentina will be left disappointed.
Everyone may be getting ahead of themselves though, the new Messi has to first decide whether he wants to play football and if he does, he has to be good enough to get into the national team. For all we know he may go the complete opposite way from his dad and maybe become a dancer, singer or even a lawyer. Only time will tell !
